I was 6 when I decided to be a Special Education Teacher, I remember the day and moment vividly. I met a girl named Lisa. Her parents taught me that this young lady was deaf, blind, intellectually impaired and had limited communication.
I said “oh, ok” asked a couple more questions about how best she communicates. I attempted my best to interpret, to communicate and to be with Lisa in that moment.
Meeting Lisa plotted a life path for me. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many people, their parents and families who continue to teach me.
This is at the very heart of why I created Echo Back and the reason I love what I do.
I aim to be your local Support Specialist.
